Style Tricks to Make You Look Slimmer

By: Matthew Smith

The first and best tip to making yourself look slimmer with the use of fashion and clothes is to look at your trousers. If they are the type that is tight around the ankles, then it is time to try straight legged or boot cut trousers. Trousers that are cut to be close-fitting on the ankles will make your ankles look thin, but then make your bottom and thighs look huge in comparison.

Do not be tempted to buy clothes that swamp your figure or even worse are a size too small. Baggy jumpers, although comfortable, add weight were none actually exists and too tight clothing shows up every lump and bump that even you thought you did not have.

The wider you are the thicker your heel should be. It may sound strange, but chunky legs on top of slim stiletto heels will look much heavier than they actually are. If you are on the short side then try to avoid the type of shoes that have an ankle strap as these will visually cut a good three inches off the length of the leg.

Also the colour and texture of the fabric can make all the difference to how you appear. Try to choose clothes that are heavier and more structured and also look for tailoring that can help to pull you in and give you shape. Remember that dark colours minimise and bright colours and shiny fabrics will emphasise so choose the fashion you follow wisely.

Try to find a single breasted style jacket as double breasted styles are only really for the super slim. The button should ideally fasten at the smallest point. Therefore if you are one of the lucky few who have a well defined waist then this is where the button should be. However most women do not have much of a waist any more so the smallest part is generally just below the bust line and in this case this is where the fastening should be.

Make sure that the accessories not only coordinate with our outfit but are in keeping with your size. A dainty handbag that will hold only your cards and keys may look cute, but will make the holder look large in comparison. This is also important when choosing jewellery the larger you are the bigger the jewellery. Although you also need to take into account the size of you wrist if buying bracelets, as to break this rule a small wrist will always look wrong with a cuff sized bracelet even if you are large.

Most importantly, you can have the most flattering, fashionable outfit but it can be ruined by the wrong foundations. A good supporting bra can make an outfit. The straps should be wide enough to offer support as too tight straps will show through. Make sure you get measured often, especially if your weight fluctuates as this is where the majority of women put on weight first.

Most importantly looking and feeling confident is about dressing for your own personal style, so if you think you look great in your chosen outfit then you probably do!

Regardless Of Your Body Size There Are Fashions Available For You

By: Gregg Hall

Most people would like to change things about their bodies, for many there is more than one thing, most of us have several areas we would like to change or improve. What would you want to change about yours?

Many people think they are too large and some think they are too skinny, I know people on both ends of the spectrum. I know women who think their breasts are too small and others who think they need a reduction. Some people want their rears to be smaller and in some cases it is just genetics and can't be helped. In too many cases people just don't have the money to get surgery that will make the changes or they don't have the time or the devotion to stick to an exercise plan that will help them make the changes. If this is the case for you, don't despair you can still change your appearance by wearing the appropriate clothing.

Hot styles and fashion trends are not just for the Barbie and Ken look-alikes. Even though some people think that only so called perfect people can take advantage of the latest fashions, in reality there is no such thing and this is why clothing comes in so many different sizes and styles. As the population has grown to be heavier, there are numerous designers that have began to make clothing to fit these larger individuals.

On the other end of the scale there are also lots of trendy styles available for the petite body type as well. There are specialty shops that cater only to the petite body types in styles for work, casual and athletic wear.

Another body type that finds the need for specialty clothing is the athletic or muscular body type. I have been involved in weightlifting and bodybuilding for over 30 years and have built my structure to the point where I have difficulty finding clothes off the rack and must seek clothing that is made for more athletic body types. There is a whole line of suits for example, that are cut specifically for the athletic body type. These designers do not limit their business to men; there are companies that specialize in clothing for athletic women as well.

For those who are considered to be plus size, there are now entire clothing lines that have been created just for your body type and now they come in trendy fashion styles so you do not have to put up with wearing clothes that are not stylish. Oversized clothing years ago just looked like tents that were just made to give freedom of movement, plus sized garments today are just as stylish as those for the general population.

The examples I have shown above should show that you can find stylish clothing for work, casual wear, and gym wear for any body types.
